Erica Gilmore Statement: On Waffle House Mass Shooting
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
It's long past time to address gun violence.
Mayoral candidate and Councilwoman-at-large Erica Gilmore issued the following statement:
Nashville, TN (April 22, 2018) - I join the Greater Nashville Community in grieving for the victims of this senseless mass shooting. We extend our unconditional love and support to the firends and families of the victims, and to those injured who are facing a long road to recovery. Our deepest gratitude to Mr. James Shaw for his heroism and selfless act of placing himself in harms way to save the lives of others.
It's long past time to address gun violence. We must work together to expand federal background checks, close the gun-show loopholes and advoocate for common-sense gun safety rules.
